Greg is the son of Beverly and the late Martin Latta, who was an avid bass fisherman all of his life. Martin loved to fish so much that when his parents retired, they sold their house in Houston and built a house on Lake Fork just so Marty would come visit them and fish. Greg loved to go out in the boat with his dad, and learned to catch bass at an early age. When Martin was killed in an auto accident in 2006, his mom and Nanny promised him they would do what they could to make sure he continued fishing, and other caring adults help out, too. Skeeter Fowler takes him fishing as much as his schedule will allow, and Greg has managed to fill in the gaps by fishing in the cove at Lake Fork at his Nanny’s house, and lots of local pond fishing.
